So some of you may remember a little link to my etsy store right over yonder <-----, Mae Flowers.
Well, I hate to say it, but I will no longer be keeping up with that business. I loved the creative outlet, and I still love making them for my girls-but that does not make a business. I took a good look at myself and my goals this weekend and realized that it is time for me to shut it down. I know women who are Wedding/birth/engagement/newborn/boutique/editorial photographers, have two or three etsy shops, are getting their LLL or DONA certification, have a part time job, and are supposed to somehow be a mom and wife. After sitting and judging them in my head I thought...well, what the heck are YOU doing?!
I've become far more passionate about photography than I ever thought I would be, so I've decided to pursue it alone. That, plus two girls, one dog, and a hubby equals a full plate for me! I find the more you try to stuff on that plate, the more something suffers. I'll still make some clips from time to time for my girls or baby showers, but I think I've learned my lesson. Just because someone tells you "You should TOTALLY sell these" doesn't mean you'll be successful ;]
Thanks for supporting me while it lasted!
Mae
