Actually - Have you ever seen Orgasmic Birth? Well I was pretty mortified when I saw women, well, one woman in particular, have an orgasm while pushing out her baby. I was pretty equally mortified [I really just don't know why...] when I saw this breech video [Careful, there's some boobies...and some lady parts.] of this mom smiling HUGE at the end of each push and showed Eamon. He said "Oh ya, that's pretty much exactly what you did" Oh...weird.
Anyway, I've been thinking about my birth playlist since I saw this video of an amazing home birth a while back.
I. Love. This. Song.

Notice, neither of these moms are screaming about how much they hate their husbands or to "Get this damn things outta me!!!" It can be done ;]
Well anyway, if you read my last post, you know that I'm having trouble finding good songs this time around, so help me out! Aside from harp solos, beach sounds [both of which I actually LOVE during a massage], and praise music, have any good suggestions? I stalk your blogs, I know you people have good taste in music! So help me out!
This is what I have so far, care to contribute?
Mae

*is he clamping her nips?
weird.
the orgasmic births always weirded me out a bit.
;)
Hahahahaha, I love you Chels. "Nipple Stimulation" as it's called helps bring on contractions :] I personally have a manual breast pump that I'd rather use just because, even though their all staring at my vagina, I really don't want my birth team to see my man feel me up. I know, they see it ALL the time...but I think the pump is more effective, lol
Oh, and way to NOT contribute any music ideas ;]
What about Kings of Leon? or Melody Gardot?
Alela Diane! anything by her...but mostly this song,
"Oh! My Mama"

Those are both amazing Rachel!
I checked out a CD from the Euless Library from a group called Montana Sky - it's a husband/wife guitar/cello duo that's really nice. I'm going back to see if they have others, and I think those are going to make up a bunch of my labor playlist (I'm due a couple of weeks after you, and am on the hunt for good music, too).
Also, Christine Kane (All the Relatives, Rain and Mud and Wild and Green) and Sufjan Stevens (Lo How A Rose E're Blooming and Come Thou Fount).
Oh congratulations Maryn! I always forget about the library, mostly because we have a huge fine there for a book that Lily supposedly has, but doesn't, that we refuse to pay for, lol!
I LOVE Sufjan, so I'll be sure to check those others out! Thank you!
Adele, Sade, Motown were all on my playlist - and for gospel i had The Winans, Take 6 and Fred Hammond - i had 4 playlists - slow and fast secular and slow and fast non-secular - i wasn't sure what i'd be in the mood for but i figured that would cover it all!
I can make you a CD and leave it at the birth center or in Dr. Jim Bob's office if you'd like.
That would be fabulous Maryn! Thank you!
